Fully licensed in Alberta and Saskatchewan, he carries a membership with both provinces’ real estate boards, personally representing over 3,000 properties to date from single family homes to multimillion-dollar commercial enterprises.
Vern and Grant specialize in agricultural, commercial, and urban transition land, administering the highly successful Progressive Tender program, as well as consulting on over 400,000 acres to date for farm families, accountants, lawyers, and lenders.
Their team provides marketing and land advisory services to clients across Alberta and Saskatchewan, resulting in becoming the #2 REMAX Commercial Team worldwide in 2025 (120 countries).
In 2014, Vern was honored to earn REMAX International’s Lifetime Achievement Award for distinguished service to the industry. He was elected to the Saskatchewan Real Estate Commission in 2015 as one of two industry representatives to practice outside of Saskatoon and Regina; and served as chairperson for three years until completing his second term in 2021.
Vern has been a contributing editor to several regional newspapers since 2005, writing over 800 columns to date on real estate and community issues of interest to readers in Canada’s Midwest and the team’s international clientele.
Prior to entering real estate in 2003, he acted as a management consultant to over 50 Canadian companies, non-profit organizations, First Nations, provincial and federal Crown agencies, assisting them with planning and strategic business development.
Today, in partnership with his son Scott, and wife Kitty, he also plays an active role in the management of a 1,400 head livestock operation outside of Maidstone, Saskatchewan on land that has been in his family since 1905.
